Fixed-fee conveyancing · New South Wales
Buying or selling property is complicated enough without wondering what your conveyancing will cost.
With Zettle, you’ll know your professional conveyancing fee before we lift a finger. It’s a fixed price for a standard residential purchase or sale, not an hourly rate.
We’ll also give you a clear breakdown of your expected costs upfront. Your professional fixed fee covers the legal work we do. On top of that, most matters have some third-party costs that everyone pays, whoever they use. Disbursements are things we order on your behalf, like property searches and certificates, passed on at cost. Government charges, such as land registration and duty, are set by the relevant authority and paid to them. All of these vary from property to property, so we’ll always show you the expected amounts before you go ahead.

Fixed fees apply to standard residential matters. Additional fees may apply where a matter is unusually complex or falls outside the standard scope, and will be advised before any additional work is undertaken.
Your professional fixed fee covers a standard residential purchase. Additional fees only apply if your matter needs work outside that standard scope — and we’ll always flag it before any extra cost:
You’re buying with a lender
Liaising with your financier is included; your bank will charge its own settlement fees.
Non-standard searches are required
Any extra searches are passed on at cost, and only with your approval first.
Will my professional fixed fee ever change?
Your professional fee for a standard residential purchase is agreed up front and won’t change for that scope of work. If your matter needs work beyond the standard scope, we’ll explain why and agree any additional fee with you before we do it. Government and search charges are set by third parties and passed on at cost.
Why do searches and government charges cost extra?
The work of ordering and reviewing them is part of your professional fixed fee. The charges themselves are set by government and third-party search providers — we can’t control or discount those, so we pass them on at cost.
When should I get a conveyancer involved?
As early as you can — ideally before you sign anything. You can send us contracts to review, free while you’re still searching, so you get advice before you’re committed, not after.
What happens if my purchase doesn’t proceed?
If a contract falls through, you won’t pay the full professional fee — we only charge for the work actually completed. You’re welcome to keep sending us contracts to review, free, while you continue your search.

When should I involve a conveyancer when selling?
Before you list. In NSW, a contract generally needs to be prepared before a property is marketed for sale, so involving your conveyancer early means your contract is ready and helps avoid delay when an offer comes in.
What if my sale doesn’t proceed?
You only pay for the work completed. If the sale falls through, there’s no full professional fee, and we’ll pick things back up when you relist.
