Cost of PEXA

How much does PEXA cost?

The PEXA fee is a per-transaction charge for settling a property deal electronically, collected at settlement. There's no fee if the transaction doesn't complete, and the amount varies by state and transaction.

PEXA charges a fee per transaction which is collected at settlement, so if the transaction is not successful there will be no PEXA fees.

The fees are subject to change and differ from state to state and transaction to transaction. The complete schedule of fees is on the PEXA website.

Because PEXA's fees are indexed and change over time, check the current amounts on the PEXA pricing page rather than relying on a fixed figure.

Common questions

Is PEXA charged if my purchase falls through?

No — the PEXA fee is only charged when the transaction actually settles. If it doesn't complete, there's no fee.

Is the PEXA fee the same everywhere?

No — it varies by state and transaction type, and it's collected at settlement as a disbursement. Your conveyancer includes the current amount in your disbursements estimate.

Do I pay PEXA on top of my conveyancer's fee?

Yes — it's a third-party disbursement, separate from the conveyancer's professional fee, and appears as a line item at settlement.
